Dokeos launches… Dokeos EDUCATION
The Dokeos company launches Dokeos EDUCATION, a new flavour of the popular open source e-learning suite, with 2.5 million users referred to date.
Result from our work with St Joseph College of Troyes, Paris V University and the Infostance company, Dokeos EDUCATION is both a software and a services bundle adapted to schools, universities and associations.
Dokeos EDUCATION offers the following:
- Open Source technology under GPL license: you have control over your project
- Integration with the Digital Classroom Environment (optional)
- Quiz GALLERY: a gallery of quiz templates and activities to facilitate production by teachers
- Integration of e-learning and mindmapping for a visual organization of information (experimental)
- Centralized authentification of users thanks to a new CAS and LDAP module (configuration required)
- Online evaluation tool of classroomactivities : blended learning approach
- Pedagogical Wiki: building knowledge bases
- Anti-plagiarism system and students (optional)
- Fixed price and possibility to manage big volumes of users (up to 100.000)
- Support for your teams by qualified professionals, solution developers (optional)
- SaaS model (Software as a Service): one pays only what one consumes
- Training of teachers in inter-schools mode: 1 day to start with Dokeos and to initiate themselves with mindmapping (optional)
A good opportunity for schools and universities to dynamise their teaching project at little cost, articulating classroom training with Web 2.0 tools and the mindmaps-based visual treatment of information.
