Dokeos EDUCATION: 200 schools in Auvergne
The Clermont Ferrand Academy chose to set up a Digital Work Environment in 200 schools for a period of 3 years. Scolastance (DWE) and Dokeos (e-learning) were elected.
It is a success for Dokeos, 20 days after the start of Dokeos EDUCATION.
The project is up and running. At the end of May the Dokeos Studio team trained the ITC and pedagocial experts on the use of Dokeos, e-learning + instructional design + a relevant use of mindmapping in the production of online courses. This summer, Scolastance and Dokeos will be integrated at technical level to offer one interface and one login to the users (Single Sign On).
Pedagogical innovations
This choice transforms the education life of the area, offering teachers simple tools and insights for a differentiated pedagogy. Each teacher will be able to use Dokeos to produce courses according to, at least, three different methodologies:
- Self-training and self-evaluation: the pupil takes the course online at his own pace (old CD-ROM principle)
- Colaborative training: through the Dokeos Web 2.0 tools like the blog and the wiki
- Training on problems through case studies, assignments, issues to solve…
The integration of mindmapping also provides the teachers a simple tool to create visual interfaces, ergonomic menus and logically articulated contents.
The teachers of the 205 establishments have virtual access to the club of Dokeos teachers which enables them to exchange good practices, contents and training scenarios.
