Dokeos 1.6.5 is a security bugfix release. It has basically the same features as previous 1.6 versions (1.6.0 to 1.6.4) but adds some bugfixes.

How to install

As always for free software; it is provided as is, without any warranty, we try our best but promise nothing, and you are encouraged to take frequent backups, as you should do for all your data. Our FAQ page explains how to backup Dokeos courses.

If this is your first install or an upgrade from Dokeos 1.5, 1.5.4 or 1.5.5, you can follow the instructions provided in the downloaded package, in a file called installation_guide.html. You can also read this guide online.

If you upgrade from Dokeos 1.6.0, 1.6.1, 1.6.2, 1.6.3 or 1.6.4 you don't need to run any install or upgrade scripts - just copy over the original files an folders, replacing the current files.


Known issues

  • The version number that is displayed will continue to show the previous version, not "1.6.5".
  • When you copy the new files over the older ones, please skip the "home" folder in your Dokeos directory. otherwise you will lose whatever changes you made to the homepage.

Since many people modify their Dokeos installation, it's hard for them to just overwrite all their files with those of 1.6.4. If you wish to update your Dokeos installation manually or by patching your files, you can create a patch file using CVS-commands. More information about this in our FAQ.
