Timeline
The scheme below gives an overview of the Dokeos releases. We currently have 5 branches in our SVN repository, matching the several Dokeos releases.
- a 1.6-branch which was used for bugfixing the stable 1.6.x releases while development on 1.8 started,
- a community release 2.0.x branch which was used for minor bugfix releases for the experimental Dokeos Community Release 2.0 (this branch is no longer in use, 2.0 is superseded by 2.1)
- the LCMS branch. In this branch we have started developing an LCMS. This is an experimental branch.
- an experimental community release 2.1 branch
- the main branch, the trunk, in which further development of the next release takes place.

Other Dokeos Releases
- Dokeos Community releases are a initiative of some developers to wanted to try some alternative developments. The consequence was that there were two development teams (some working on Dokeos 1.8 and some working on the community releases) and the code grew apart. The community releases were ended because fear grew of another split in the developers.
- Dokeos LCMS is an initiative of Hogeschool Gent.
