From Dokeos

On this page an overview is given of the implemented features in the LCMS project. The features of the existing Dokeos 1.8 version are also listed to compare both and to have an overview of what has to be done to make sure the LCMS has at least the same features as the existing Dokeos software. Please read the LCMS-pages on this wiki to make yourself familiar with the ideas, design and used terms.

Core

A lot of core features in Dokeos are allready migrated to object oriented code. Both courses and users are defined as classes which can be used in the entire system. A lot of code cleaning is still needed in the user classes, the Dokeos header and footer, css,...

Repository

Every user has a personal repository in which all his learning objects are stored.

Available features

• organize learning objects in categories
• view/create/edit/delete learning objects
• make new versions of existing learning objects
• compare different versions of a learning object
• update publications of a learning object to the latest version of that object
• manage metadata attached to learning objects (work needed)
• search for learning objects
• view quota
• recycle bin for deleted learning objects (+ option to restore)
• view where and when your learning objects are published and who published them
