From Dokeos
Hi, I was a software developer working at the Free University of Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, VUB). My main tasks were supporting the e-learning needs of the university and further developing Dokeos. I've quit this job since september 2007.
Future
- Portfolio development
- Evaluate PHP frameworks to be used with Dokeos if this would be useful
- Test the tree-based storage structure, this is probably more efficient for storing locations of the roles-rights system [1]
Current
Currently busy with
- local adaptations to Dokeos for our university
- test-driving some interesting Dokeos extensions (messages [2], rss [3], reservations [4], anti-virus, rss...). I've also integrated the Mexican messages plugin into Dokeos cr 2.1 and Dokeos 1.8, I'm sure that'll make a great addition to standard Dokeos (thanks people!)...
- working on users/roles/rights system
- creating together with other developers an improved design that should be performant and have all features the core developing organisations want [5]
- getting familiar with the Dokeos LCMS structure
Past work
- Developing the community releases - Dokeos community 2.0 and Dokeos community 2.1
- Developing a user roles and rights system based on the design presented in the Developer meeting August 2005 - this work is partially done, can be tested in the community releases.
