Take your first few steps with Dokeos: create a course and a quiz!
With Dokeos, creating a course online is only a few clicks away. Follow our guide to create your course, without stress, without losing time and free of charge!
Dokeos is the LMS (learning management system) that allows you to create your courses online in record time. We will show you how to put together your very first course and quiz in a few easy steps.
Create your Dokeos account
Click on ‘free 60-day trial’. Please fill the form.
You will receive an email straightaway to confirm your identity. Go to your email account. Please note: your confirmation email might be in your spam folder.
Copy the portal address in the email into the navigation bar of your browser and press enter.
That’s it! You have arrived on the homepage of your personal Dokeos portal.
Create your first course
Choose your language: English or French.
Log in with your user name and password. You can find these in the confirmation email you received from us. Press enter.
You will be redirected to the homepage of your personal Dokeos portal.
Click on ‘Create a course’.
Give your course a name and press enter.
You will be redirected to your Dokeos work interface. From there, you can access many functionalities in your Dokeos suite.
Click on ‘Author’ and give your new course module a name.
You will be redirected to the data entry interface of your course module.
You can choose a template (from the column on the right) or use the Dokeos interface to start on a blank page. You can also import PowerPoint files or a SCORM course with the course module tool. With the Dokeos interface, you can combine text, audio and video content in one single course. You can also integrate quizzes between two course pages.
Think about saving your work regularly. Everything is stored online in your personal place. You can access it at any time from anywhere, from whatever computer you are working on or wherever you log on.
Create your first quiz
To create a quiz, first return to your course homepage.
Click on ‘Quiz’.
Then create your quiz. Dokeos proposes 8 types of questions: from MCQs through text completion, to zone recognition on an image, Save and return to the homepage.
Return to ‘module’. Add a slide to put your quiz on by clicking on the ‘quiz’ icon in the menu bar of your module layout interface.
